All is well in Bahrain, says the King’s newspaper

It was the Prophet’s birthday and  King Hamad has  ushered in better days to come.  Despite the world saying that things were not going well in Bahrain, the Gulf Daily News, the country’s largest read English newspaper and the King’s voice had this headline: “The King deplores deaths.,” “His Majesty’s speech hailed.” Check this out: http://www.gulf-daily-news.com/

Let us be assured that all is well in Bahrain.  There is no word better than “cautiously optimistic” to describe press freedom in the Middle East, especially in the Persian Gulf. Another simple term for reporting news here is self-censorship, a widely practiced media art form.
