An obit urges us to wear a mask

I must confess I am a fundraiser and I scour through obit pages of newspapers on Sunday mornings.

Today, it was really hard to read about 50-year-old Katie Springs in the Houston Chronicle. She passed away on July 25, 2020 due to respiratory complications because of COVID-19.

A young, vivacious life was taken away from our midst due to this deadly disease. Katie had a vibrant personality, believed in helping others and was the president-elect of the Houston Junior Forum, a non-profit providing charitable services in the greater Houston Area.

The last line in her obit read: “In honor of Katie, the family also requests that you fulfill her wish to protect yourself and others during this Coronavirus pandemic by wearing a mask.”

So, whether you are an ultra-conservative or a left-leaning liberal, just wear a mask. And, honor people like Katie.

We don’t care about your debates.
